A five-project PV–BESS development pipeline
Caelus’s current pipeline comprises five projects combining photovoltaics (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS): 51.77 MWp of photovoltaic capacity on the DC side, 41 MW of battery storage power and 82 MWh of storage energy capacity.
The first two projects, at 7.31 MWp and 10.24 MWp, are in preparation for construction as of 4 October 2026. Together they comprise 17.55 MWp of PV. The associated storage systems are planned at a combined 15 MW / 30 MWh. These are development and planning figures, not a statement of commissioned capacity.
Local coordination informed by international experience
Led by CEO and co-founder Marijo Vrgoc, Caelus works with investors, technology partners and industrial companies in Croatia and Southeast Europe. Its role combines commercial experience with technical project coordination.
Vrgoc’s earlier professional work in Germany includes involvement in projects with around 600 electric vehicle charging points, approximately 18 MW of rooftop photovoltaics and around 55 MW of ground-mounted photovoltaics. This is his personal project experience, which now informs Caelus’s development and structuring work.
From site assessment to implementation
Working with Caelus, our local project approach brings site selection and grid connection assessment together with the requirements of investors. Caelus coordinates development with planners, authorities and grid operators.
The work includes support for permitting, system configuration, and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services. Preparation for commissioning and handover to the future operator are also considered as part of implementation planning.
Combining storage with energy management
Caelus plans solar generation and storage around consumption, the grid connection and electricity marketing. It integrates storage with its own energy management system (EMS) and coordinates the interfaces with technology partners.
The applications described in the project material include integration of a 750 kW / 1.5 MWh BESS into an existing PV installation and a 2.2 MW / 4.4 MWh BESS at an industrial facility. Both systems are controlled by Caelus Investment’s own EMS.
A starting point for investors and businesses
For commercial and industrial customers, Caelus begins with consumption data and existing energy infrastructure. These inform a concept for self-supply, storage operation and, where appropriate, additional electricity marketing.
For investor projects, Caelus supports preparation for financing discussions and assessment of electricity offtake models, including long-term supply contracts or marketing through trading partners. The company coordinates participants and prepares technical and commercial decisions for projects that investors and businesses wish to develop, acquire or implement jointly in Croatia.
